About Kai

I write stories about the things that make being human both difficult and beautiful: the worries we carry, the people we love, the changes we resist, and the moments we nearly miss. Zen wisdom is woven through these pages, but you don’t need to know anything about Zen to find your way into them.

My stories often unfold in a quiet, timeless Japan, among monks, gardeners, travellers, and ordinary people doing their best to understand life. I don’t believe a story needs to give us all the answers. Sometimes it is enough if it helps us look again, with a little more patience and kindness.
